Best Teamtailor Alternatives for UK Teams (2026)

UK comparison of six Teamtailor alternatives, from Pinpoint to Marxel, on published pricing, UK and EU data hosting, CV screening and fit.

Last reviewed: 17 October 2026. Pricing, data hosting and screening features were checked against each vendor's own pricing, security and help pages on that date (see Sources). Where a vendor doesn't publish a figure, we say "not published" rather than guess.

The short answer: Teamtailor is a well-liked, employer-branding-led ATS with an EU hosting option, but it doesn't publish prices, so you can't compare costs before a sales call. UK teams looking elsewhere tend to want a published price, UK data centres or deeper screening. Workable, Breezy HR and Ashby publish entry prices (in US dollars). Pinpoint offers UK and EU data centres and a UK support line. Recruitee keeps data in the EU. If your problem is the volume of applications rather than the careers site, look at Marxel, an ATS with built-in CV screening and published GBP pricing.

All seven are applicant tracking systems. Most treat screening as one feature among many. Marxel goes deepest on screening, while Teamtailor goes deepest on careers sites and employer brand. The How to choose section helps you match the tool to the problem.

Why UK Teams Look Beyond Teamtailor

Teamtailor does a lot well: polished careers sites, unlimited job postings and users, and AI included with unlimited usage. Several things still push UK buyers to compare:

1. Pricing isn't published. Teamtailor's pricing page asks for your company details and returns a quote. Some features, including requisitions and approval flows and multi-brand management, are Premium. Without a public price, it's hard to check a quote or budget before a sales call. Third-party estimates exist, but they conflict, so we don't repeat them.

2. You pay for branding whether or not you use it. Teamtailor's careers-site builder and employer-brand tools are its biggest strength. If you mostly post to job boards and need help reviewing what comes back, you may be paying for capability you don't use.

3. Screening help is generalist. Teamtailor's Co-pilot includes candidate screening, resume summaries and candidate suggestions, built on OpenAI models. It's broad AI assistance across the ATS. Teams with high application volumes may want screening that applies agreed criteria to every CV and shows the evidence.

4. Data hosting needs the right setting. Teamtailor offers a Europe (Ireland) region and a North America (Oregon) region. Europe is the one it recommends for GDPR. That's a good option, but check which region your account uses.

If none of these applies to you, Teamtailor may still be the right choice. If one does, the alternatives below address it.

Tool-by-Tool: The Best Teamtailor Alternatives for UK Teams

Pinpoint β€” best for UK data centres and UK support

Best for: UK organisations, including multi-site employers, that want UK or EU hosting and a UK support line.

Pinpoint's customers include UK brands such as Lush, River Island and Twinings, and it lists a UK customer support number. Like Teamtailor, it pays attention to candidate experience and careers pages, with more emphasis on running several hiring streams.

Data hosting: Pinpoint's security pages list data centres in Amsterdam, Dublin and London across AWS and Digital Ocean, and say it holds ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and SOC 2 Type II certification.

Pricing: Not published. You request pricing.

AI screening: Pinpoint offers an AI criteria checklist, AI candidate filters, an AI match score and an AI hiring copilot. Its AI policy says features are opt-in per customer, that "AI must never be the final decision-maker", and that customer data isn't used to train shared models.

Watch for: Like Teamtailor, it's quote-only, so it won't fix the pricing-visibility problem. See Pinpoint alternatives.

Workable β€” best broad ATS with a published price

Best for: SMBs that want an established ATS they can price without a sales call.

Workable says over 35,000 companies have used it, and it lists a London office alongside Boston and Athens.

Data hosting: Workable's privacy policy says its services are hosted and operated in the US, and data may be stored in the US and the EEA. Transfers use Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US DPF. Its security page lists ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3.

Pricing: Published in US dollars. Standard is $299/month (or $3,588/year), Premier $599/month and Enterprise $719/month, both billed annually. Prices rise with headcount band, and the page shows no GBP pricing.

AI screening: Every paid account gets 3,000 free AI credits for Workable Agent. Screening a candidate with the Evaluate agent costs one credit, and more credits are sold in packs.

Watch for: It's US-hosted by default and priced in dollars, which is a step back from Teamtailor's Europe region if data location matters to you. If you keep Workable, Marxel can connect to it. See Workable alternatives.

Recruitee β€” best for EU-only hosting

Best for: UK and European SMBs that want collaborative hiring and data kept in the EU.

Recruitee is part of Tellent, an Amsterdam-headquartered group with offices in Paris and PoznaΕ„. Plans are Start, Advance and Optimize. It's the closest European peer to Teamtailor on this list.

Data hosting: Recruitee's help centre says it hosts data only in the EU, mainly on Google Cloud in Frankfurt and Berlin, with files and backups on AWS Frankfurt. Tellent's certificate covers ISO 27001.

Pricing: Not published. The pricing page shows plan names in euros without figures, says contracts need a one-year minimum (monthly payment is possible), and offers 20% off annual billing.

AI screening: The AI Screening Assistant comes with Advance (100 credits a month) and in full on Optimize. Start includes AI writing help for emails and feedback.

Watch for: It's quote-only and has a one-year minimum, and it has no UK office listed. If you keep Recruitee, Marxel can connect to it. See Recruitee alternatives.

Ashby β€” best for data-led teams

Best for: Scaling teams that want ATS, CRM, scheduling and analytics in one platform.

Ashby is the step up if you've outgrown Teamtailor's reporting. It's built around analytics and automation rather than employer branding.

Data hosting: Ashby's security page says it runs on AWS and is SOC 2 Type 2 audited, but it doesn't name a hosting region. Its GDPR page says it signs a DPA and relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension.

Pricing: Partly published. Foundations is $400/month for companies with up to 100 employees, with 10% off for annual commitments. Plus and Enterprise are quote-only.

AI screening: AI-assisted application review is opt-in and included on all plans. It checks each application against job criteria (meets, does not meet or undecided) and shows its reasoning. Foundations accounts get 1,500 AI credits a month.

Watch for: If you need data kept in the EU, ask Ashby to confirm the region in writing, because Teamtailor lets you choose one. If you keep Ashby, Marxel can connect to it. See our Ashby alternatives guide.

Breezy HR β€” best free or low-cost starting point

Best for: Very small teams hiring one role at a time on a tight budget.

Breezy HR is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is part of Learning Technologies Group. Its about page says 17,400 companies use it.

Data hosting: Breezy's pages don't name a hosting region. Its security link goes to the LTG group trust centre, which lists group-level certifications.

Pricing: Published in US dollars. Bootstrap is free (one active position). Startup is $189/month, or $157/month billed yearly. Breezy says annual pricing includes two months free. Growth and Business cost more, and Custom Pro is on request. Even the free plan posts to 50+ job boards.

AI screening: Breezy Intelligence is a credit-based add-on, with credits from $30 per 100,000, covering candidate evaluation, interaction summaries and resume auditing.

Watch for: It's US-headquartered with no published hosting region or UK presence, so UK teams with strict data requirements should ask questions first. If you keep Breezy HR, Marxel can connect to it. See Breezy HR alternatives.

Marxel β€” best for explainable CV screening

Best for: UK teams whose bottleneck is reviewing applications, not the careers site.

Marxel is an applicant tracking system with CV screening built in. You publish job listings, source candidates, manage applications and screen CVs in one workspace. Screening starts from your job description and briefing notes. Marxel turns them into weighted screening criteria, your team reviews them, and Marxel applies them to every CV.

Each candidate gets a Best match band (Strong, Good, Partial or Low) showing which must-haves were met and the CV evidence behind them, with reasoning and a match/miss breakdown. Marxel also flags vague or risky criteria before screening and suggests follow-up questions where a CV leaves gaps. The hiring decision stays with your team.

Data handling: Built around GDPR-conscious workflows, with human review of criteria before screening, explainable results and candidate-data controls. Customer CVs are not used for model training. See our GDPR-compliant CV screening guide.

Pricing: Published in GBP. Free (200 CV screens/month), Standard Β£50/month (1,000 CV screens), Plus Β£120/month (3,000 CV screens, up to 5 team members) and Business on custom pricing. Every plan includes unlimited active Screening Jobs, and screening allowances are shared across the organisation.

Watch for: Marxel doesn't multipost jobs to job boards or sync with Google or Outlook calendars, and it has no careers-site builder to match Teamtailor's. It doesn't connect to Teamtailor either. Its ATS connections are Ashby, Recruitee, Workable and Breezy HR. If employer branding is central to your hiring, Teamtailor or Pinpoint will serve you better there.

How to Choose: What Are You Replacing?

Decide which part of Teamtailor you're unhappy with before you shortlist.

"We want to see a price before a sales call"

Workable, Breezy HR and Ashby (Foundations) publish US-dollar prices. Marxel publishes GBP plans with a free tier. Pinpoint and Recruitee are quote-only, like Teamtailor.

"We need UK or EU data hosting"

Pinpoint lists London, Dublin and Amsterdam data centres, and Recruitee hosts only in the EU. If you're staying with Teamtailor, make sure your account uses the Europe region. Whichever you choose, get the region and DPA in writing.

"We've outgrown the reporting"

Ashby is the analytics-heavy step up. Expect a larger platform and, above 100 employees, a quote.

"We're buried in applications"

A new careers site won't help with this. Marxel applies reviewed criteria to every CV and shows the evidence for each Best match, so you can test it on one role from the free tier.

Migration Considerations

  • Export before you cancel. Pull candidate records, CVs, notes and careers-site content out of Teamtailor, and confirm what your new ATS can import.
  • Plan the careers site. If Teamtailor hosts your careers pages, decide where those URLs will point. Redirect old job and careers URLs so you don't lose candidates or search traffic.
  • Check contract terms. Recruitee has a one-year minimum. Breezy HR and Workable's Standard plan offer monthly or annual billing. Pinpoint is quote-based, so ask about term length up front.
  • Update GDPR paperwork. A new processor means a new DPA, updated records of processing and a review of retention settings. Confirm the hosting region in writing at the same time.

FAQ

How much does Teamtailor cost in the UK?

Teamtailor doesn't publish prices in any currency. Its pricing page asks for your company details and returns a quote. It does say plans include unlimited job postings, unlimited users and Teamtailor AI with unlimited usage, while some features are Premium. Ask for the quote in writing and check which features it covers.

Does Teamtailor store data in the EU?

Teamtailor lets customers choose a data-processing region. Europe (Ireland, mainly AWS) is recommended for GDPR, and North America (Oregon) is the alternative. Its Trust Center lists ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701 and SOC 2 Type 2. Check which region your account uses before assuming EU hosting.

What's the best Teamtailor alternative for a small UK business?

If budget is the main issue, Breezy HR has a free plan and Marxel has a free tier with GBP pricing. If you want UK or EU hosting with UK support, look at Pinpoint or Recruitee.

Does Teamtailor have AI CV screening?

Yes. Teamtailor's Co-pilot, built on OpenAI models, includes candidate screening, resume summaries and candidate suggestions. An admin has to opt in and enable each feature.

Can Marxel connect to Teamtailor?

Not currently. Marxel connects to Ashby, Recruitee, Workable and Breezy HR. Teamtailor users can still use Marxel as their ATS for a role, or screen CVs in Marxel on its own, but there's no Teamtailor sync.
